On October 20-21, the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference "European Dimensions of Sustainable Development" was held. The event took place within the framework of the projects of the EU ERASMUS+ program, the Center of Excellence Jean Monet JM ECO and the Support of Associations Jean Monet EU for UA, which are implemented on the basis of the Department of Environmental Safety and Occupational Health.
During two days of intensive work, more than 100 reports were presented on all aspects of sustainable development in Europe and today's challenges.
Serhii Tokarchuk, vice-rector for scientific work of NUHT, addressed the participants of the conference on behalf of the rector, Professor Oleksandr Shevchenko. On behalf of the National Erasmus+ office, scientists were greeted by the office's expert Petro Kraynik.
Colleagues and reliable partners from Masaryk University (Czech Republic) and Lund University (Sweden) presented plenary reports, in addition to scientists from the Department of Environmental Safety and Occupational Health.
Despite the military situation, scientists from Ukraine and the European Union actively responded to the invitation to participate in the conference. Scientists from the universities and scientific centers of Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Nizhyn, Kamianskyi, Bila Tserkva, Ternopil, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Rivne, Cherkasy, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Irpen, and Masaryk University (Czech Republic) presented their scientific work. , Dresden University of Technology (Germany), Silesian University of Technology (Poland), Lund University (Sweden). Separately, we should note the courage and dedication of the conference participants from the temporarily occupied Melitopol and Kherson and the front-line Mykolaiv and Kharkiv, who found the opportunity to personally present their reports.
The round table "Renewable energy in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine" with the participation of leading industry experts: the chairman of the board of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine Heorhiy Heletukha and the head of the Ukrainian Technology Company Yevhen Lukashevych aroused great interest.
Sincere thanks to all participants of the conference - scientists, teachers, industrialists, student youth for meaningful reports and fruitful discussions, outlined problematic issues and proposals for their solution.
The results of the conference will soon be presented in the materials of the conference, as well as in the annual collection of scientific articles.
We believe that the next conference will be held in a peaceful country of the winners, and the need to organize the section "Russian aggression as a threat to the sustainable development of Europe" will disappear in the absence of the aggressor.
